So this is a post I definitely did NOT see coming, I never thought I would write about this subject, neither now nor in the near future (or ever)! As some of you have read through the course of the last three-five days, France has banned a full body swimsuit for muslim women called Burkini. Just writing that sentence makes me cringe. And the even weirder and crazier part is the reason behind the ban. According to the mayor it is because of the tension caused by the latest violence and terrorist threats. According to them it has nothing to do with racism, they banned it for safety reasons and for people’s security… How dumb is this?
So much of what I wrote above is wrong on so many levels. How can they link the burkini to terrorism? How can a piece of clothing be a threat? How can Burkini decrease the level of security? How can they decide what women should wear to the BEACH? How is this even a topic of discussion?!
– One of the problems is ofc that they can link islamic clothing (in other words Islam) to terrorism openly without it being an absurd and non tolerant thing. It has become normal to talk ill about muslims and ban muslims from things they have the right to act on/do (I know creapy). They can say “Their clothes should not be allowed, it is dangerous/not safe” without it being a problem when it infact means: muslims are dangerous. The signal this sends out is that muslims aren’t welcome to the beach (and other places) and that if you are covered you can be a threat. How is this signal OK to send out?
– Another problem is that people yet again try to decide what we should do or what we should wear. They try to tell us who to be, how to act and how our identities don’t matter unless we follow their rules. This for me is super confusing. All muslims in the west must have read or heard that none muslims (who think they know it all) don’t comprehend how (some) muslim men can decide what muslim women should do or how they should dress and yet again we have the same people (not all of them ofc) telling muslim women what to wear. How twisted is that? Apparently me and my fellow sisters are oppressed because we are forced to wear the hijab by others (which is not true ofc), and they think by forcing us to dress a certain way they are helping us… They are the ones oppressing muslim women by taking away their rights do be who they want to be and dress how they want to dress.
I’m so tired of the “what should muslim women wear” discussion. If my sisters don’t want to be half naked while swiming, they shouldn’t be forced. If my sisters want to cover up, they should be able to. And if my sisters want to be free, let them be free. Stop trying to set us free from a decision we freely made!! Stop trying to label us. You do you, and we are going to do us and just keep being awesome. 🙂
If you made it this far, kudos to you.
– Until next time in shaa Allah!
Madonna, France has a message for you: You can’t swim with us. #youcantsitwithus
Watch out peeps, my bestie might attack you at the beach. I mean she’s neither showing her hair nor wearing a bikini after all. #Buh
This last day we went to eat lunch at Shake Shack, best place ever!!! I ate it so much (even this last trip) but never got tired of that place. And usually I don’t eat meat so you can imagine how good it was. After that we decided to head to what was our second home during the second trip, Dubai Mall. We weren’t gonna shop but.. Opsi! 🙂 We after that continued to Burj Al-Arab, we wanted to go to as many places as possible. We decided to watch the sunset and my God it was one of the most gorgeous things I’ve seen mashaAllah!! The sunsets in Dubai and Sharjah are in general amazing but this time it really looked like a painting subhanaAllah, loved it!! I’m a sucker for sunsets. ❤
Later that night, 8/1-16, we went to the airport and went home. One would believe that we had enough but naah. We said the last day that we would return in april and we sure did. I feel so blessed to be able to travel and with my friends. It can’t get better than that.
24/3-16 we met up at night and went to the airport! And we were so excited to go to warm weather, beaches, citylife and desert (again) lol. Sofia was missing this time but Emilia brought two of her younger sisters with her and we still had a blast. We had our transit in Helsinki, Finland, and omg that was the best airport ever!! They has beds, who has that?! We were dead tired so we all went and slept there. LOVED IT!

I’m so happy that some of yall notice the slow update here and clearly enjoy my posts since you keep asking for them hihi! ❤ Anyway so lets continue where I left off.
Vlog (pics below):
We decided to spend a day in Abu Dhabi and it was so much fun! We first went to emirates palace then to Sheikh Zayed Mosque and then we went go karting. Fist time I visited Abu dhabi (last year) I had an astma attack which was not fun so I really enjoyed abu dhabi this time alhamdulillah!
Emirates palace was extremely big!! It was nice to see from the inside but I would probably not want to stay there. You really have to think about the way you act and talk. We thought it was too quiet for us, but it was beautiful! 🙂 We then went to eat at a hotel with a nice view. Ofc we ate hamburgars, what else? I’ve never eaten so much meat in my life, this trip was an exception..
After we ate lunch/dinner, we went to Sheikh Zayed Mosque, and it was so beautiful!! I was in awe as if it was the first time I was there. Love that place so much!!
Spectacular right?! We then went on to go karting which was also fun, I was so scared at every curve, it was a bit awkward since you share a big racing track with others. And also the second we were gonna start I realized that the cars didn’t have seat belt…
My last Dubai post will be the next one, that will be our last day during our winter dubai trip. Then the Dubai part three posts will come, I did not vlog much that trip, or almost at all, but I took pics (OFC). Hope you enjoyed this post!

So here is the vlog from day 4,5,6. I basically did not vlog day 4 & 5 but I did vlog our wonderful day (6) in Sharjah, check it out:
So day 4, the first day of 2016, contained pure chillmode. We woke up, went to the beach and later that night we went to Burj al arab to chill some more. It was beautiful, we took some pictures and then headed to a mosque close to it that sells the best Karak Tea ever. It was so delicious! Plz someone, send me Karak.. Anyway, after that we went back to JBR and just hung out even more. So it was a day filled with chill, after having a crazy night (new years)..
Day 5- This day was also just pure chill. We woke up, ate breakfast, went to the pool and just soaked in the sun. After that we decided to go to jbr to eat Shake Shack and ooo do I miss Shake Shack!! I’m not a hamburger person but that food tho! After our wonderful dinner at Shake shack we went to Naif Souk and shopped a little bit. We didn’t stay long, the place literally contained only men… I was like where my ladies at?! 😮 So after a little while we went to a restaurant/café somewhere, I can’t remember the area or the name of the place. But we just sat there and ate and talked and talked and talked. Lol. Even tho we hung out everyday, there was always something to talk about with these ladies. One of the good things about being a group of five chicas. 🙂
Day 6 – Our wonderful day in Sharjah.
Now, this is a place (Sharjah) that I definitely did not expect to like. No offence. But I just didn’t expect the place to be very nice but oow was I wrong. Sharjah is actually a looot prettier than I thought it would be! We went to Souk al islami (I think it’s called) and while we were shopping we noticed that the sun was setting and decided to go out, we had no idea how the backside of the mall looked like. We were positively surprised for sure. It was one of the most amazing sunsets I’ve seen. Just the whole view by the water, the birds flying around making it look like an arranged set for a movie scene and the palm trees.. Aaggh just everything mA! Gods creation is truely one of a kind. After taking gazillion selfies and pictures (and videos) we went for dinner (lunch, late lunch as usual). And that buffet tho.. They had too much food, I was soo confused. Food paradise. It was inside a mall, a mall with basically no stores but yeah it was a mall for some reason. After our amazing dinner we headed to Dubai mall to iceskate. Yall may think “Sara you live in Sweden why would you iceskate in Dubai mall”, well it was Dubai mall… Haha it was just fun to skate inside a mall, without hundred of layers of clothes and good music etc. We had an awesome day alhamdulillah. We went to operation falafel afterwards. It’s always either Operation falafel or Cheesecake factory…
We’re truly blessed to have each other and to be able to travel, I do not take that for granted whatsoever. May God let everyone experience what I experience and more!
– Until next time in shaa Allah! ❤
WILL NEVER GET OVER THIS VIEW, mashaAllah! #Godscreation
So a new vlog is up
and ofc I’m about to follow it up with some pictures up in here!
So day 3 in Dubai was NOT as I thought it would be. We imagined it to be one of the funniest days there and fancy chamncy but naah.. It was so not.
We started of the day with pool chill (oh yeah). After that we took our time to just hang out and get ready for our dinner and fireworks.
We split up in two groups and went to Dubai Mall. We romed around for a bit and ate cold stone ice cream, yummy!
It was five mintues between these pictures.↓
After that we had to have our new year photoshoot by the Dubai mall entrence duuh.. Lol we just stood there and took a bunch of photos and then we headed to Al Hallab, the restaurant we booked for new years. Their food, at least the first part that we got to eat, was delicious. I absolutely love lebanese food!
And then in the midst of our dinner Sofia is like: “I think they started a little celebration earlier, isn’t that fireworks?” And we turn around to see sparks falling down and we were like… ? And after about six seconds we see material burning and falling down a building. The sparks turned into flames and we started seeing a little bit of smoke. We realized that the building in front of us and in front of burj khalifa was on fire.. I went out and the fire spread faster than Usain Bolt, I was in chock. After ten to fifteen minutes all 20 floors were on fire and there were bigger pieces of material falling down in flames. We decided to leave and started walking towards the exit and in that moment they started evacuating the restaurant.
We went to the other side of the mall, outside the main entrance, and just sat there for two hours (until midnight) since we couldn’t get home anyway. There were no cabs or buses, the roads were closed etc. We watched the fireworks and started walking home. We walked for TWO HOURS(!), without shoes (!), on the high way (!). The whole night was just surreal. The roads near Dubai Mall were closed so there were A LOT of people walking towards their direction. We wanted to get home to JBR and let me tell you something, IT IS NOT CLOSE. So after walking on empy highways, crazy busy highways and on dirty roads, we found a cab… I’ve never felt so at ease after finding a darn cab! When we got home we were hungry, ofc, so we changed clothes and went to Operation falafel.
Operation Falafel, here we come! (I MISS YOU) ♥ Tired girls at 3 a.m.↓
I will never forget our new year in Dubai, it was the opposite of what we had imagined and planned but then again God is the best planner. Anyway if you are still reading, props to you my friend! I hope to see you in my next post iA. 🙂
May Allah bless you 2016, may He keep you and your close ones healthy. May God shower you in succes in dunya and deen. May God keep you happy and safe, always! ♥
