Stop complaining

Sounds easy.. And it kinda is.
I wanted my first post of the year to be about something I have thought about and something I have tried to change. Generally I’m a positive person but like every other human being I do complain, even if it is to myself and not for everyone to hear. As soon as we start to complain a wave of negativity hits us. That wave ain’t a holiday in Mykonos wave, it is a Nazaré (Portugal) surfing wave. In other words, it is high! That negativity tends to make the good things in life go unseen, they are kept hidden behind a wave & makes you focus only on the negative. And all the positives in life are slowly drifting away (drifting awaay, wave after wave hihi).

What I’m trying to say is that complaining -> negativity.
Negativity = bye bye positivity. Wow I really know how to explain things.

On a serious note, I do believe that being aware of when you complain is a real advantage. The minute you complain (and are aware of it) try to control the way you think and try to always see the pros (instead of the cons) in the situation.
You missed the morning bus… Well did you die? Maybe you got an extra minute hug from your kid or an extra minute to eat your apple. It’s not like you will have to run to work, catch the next bus.
– You forgot your headphones at home… Well does it hurt to hear your own thoughts?
– Someone stepped on your foot (super annoying)… Well did you lose your foot?
– It is super snowy and cold AF… Is it really that bad tho??

Put your thoughts to sleep,
do not let them cast a shadow over the moon of your heart.
Let go of thinking.

I was in the coolest graffiti place the other day and saw some amazing paintings/art pieces. Thank you Hasanah for taking me there! Such a cozy afternoon with an awesome soul.

The place had huge art pieces all over an area in the middle of nowhere. I can’t believe I didn’t know about that place. Anyway I will post one of my favorit pieces on here (the one below and one tomorrow). Hope you’ll like them!

Flowerpower in Santorini

I have to say one of the things I obsessed about while in Greece, specially Santorini, were the flowers. There were flowers (mostly pink hihi) everywhere & I loved it. Ofc I had to take outfit pics since I matched the surrounding with my white and flowery outfit. I thought I’d post them since a lot of you seemed to like it when you saw it on the vlog and on my insta! 🙂 It is from BikBok.
I have no idea why the lighting is so bright thoo.. “I can see your haloo“..

The little things aren’t little♥

I’ve been thinking about how people today don’t notice or reflect on the little things in life that make us happy. I recently asked that question to two teenagers, without recieving an answer on what small things (it could be everyday stuff) make  them happy. Today I talked about it again with a few of my co-workers over lunch. Since they are older they are wiser (you know who you are haha) so I got a discussion and answer out of it. But being able to foucs on the little things in life really does make a difference in the attitude  we have and our mood.

It’s the little things that make us happy everyday, not the big events that happen every now and then. Be enthusiastic about the small, everyday, stuff. Be happy when someone compliments you, be happy when someone offers you something, be happy when you’re out for a walk, when you listen to your favourite song or when you hang out with your family & friends. Appreciate the little things, the things that happen often. Happiness does not need to be grand but it does make you feel great! 🙂

Dreamer

Today I met an old student of mine that I used to tutor, she is finishing an essay to be able to get into university. I used to have her way back and I’ve kind of been around during her high school years as well. I helped her a little bit and we talked and I was just so proud to see how much she has changed for the better and how hard she is working to reach her goal. It all started with a dream (then came the hard work). 🙂

It took a turn..

I mean you could easily say that the weather took a drastic turn today lol. I was so happy yesterday and then I woke up to a cloudy and rainy monday but heeey we still gooood! I’m still happy, alhamdulillah, even though it was a long day.

I’m happy about the little things; comments I have gotten, smiles I’ve recieved and the love I’ve tried to spread. Hope everyone had a blessed, easy breezy lemon squeezy, Monday! 🙂

I can feel it in the air!

I love how much I could feel the spring vibes this week, a little rain, sunshine and nice breeze. It made me so excited every morning on my way to work. Today was the best! ♥ Me and my friend went out for a walk and took some pictures and videos! The sun was shining so bright and it was so much fun not freezing to death 🙂 Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

(Late) Eid Mubarek

Salam waaleykom everyone!

I just want to say Eid Mubarek to my brothers and sisters! I KNOW I am late with wishing you eid mubarek but a lot has happened after eid. I hope you all had a wonderful day tho, I sure had. Love hanging out with my family and even more so during eid.

I hung out with my family all day just eating (way too much), opening gifts, talking and playing with my nephews etc. Alhamdulillah, I’m extremely blessed to be able to take the day of and celebrate it with my fam. My little brother is abroad studying this semester so this is the first time we aren’t all together but alhamdulillah it was all good and we got to talk to him at least.

A day by the castle ♥

Me and Zora went to the most gorgeous place yesterday. The weather was absolutely amazing and we decided to visit ‘Drottningholm slott’, a castle in Drottning. It was warm but windy at the same time,  we brought snacks with us and just roamed around. We were there for a little more than two hours but felt like 30 minutes lol. It has been warm these past four days which has been awesome(!) because it had rained and been cloudy for more than two weeks. Basically since I got home from Morocco. So I have finally been able to enjoy Stockholm a little bit these past days BUT… now it’s cloudy and rainy again as I’m writing this post. I’m headed out now but do come back and visit my blog again for my (last) Dubai vlog, Morocco and Spain vlogs (from this summer vacay) that will start rolling in here! 🙂

Wedding weekends!

Yesterday one of my best friends got married!! 🙂 She was one of the most gorgeous brides I have ever seen, literally, I’m not saying this because she is a close friend but she was breathtaking. And her dress… Ma shaa Allah! It was super a super nice wedding and fun to just hang with friends (and eat hihi). May Allah bless them and their marriage, so happy for them!

This is the third wedding I’ve been to in the timeframe of a month. Last weekend was fun as well, I went to a friends wedding and they had a beautiful moroccan wedding mA.I’m so glad that the next wedding is in march in shaa Allah lol.
